WVFS Recognized as One of Top 30 College Stations!

In 2013 KEXP Morning Show host John Richards decided to keep playing songs by The Clash after a listener request, eventually dedicating the rest of his show to the band—and calling it “International Clash Day.” From that informal beginning, the celebration grew into an annual tradition at KEXP and, over the years, spread to other radio stations, cities, and communities around the world.

On Friday, February 6, we are observing and celebrating International Clash Day at WVFS alongside our friends at KEXP. The focus this year is “Know Your Rights.” At a time in the US when some pretty basic human rights are under attack, the message of the Clash has never been more relevant. And so on February 6th, 2026, our programming will encourage the sentiment that basic human rights matter for everyone.
